Collection: Fantasmagoric Paintings by Ron Aniello

Fantasmagoric

Paintings by Ron Aniello

With a brush in hand, Grammy-nominated record producer, Springsteen collaborator, and composer Ron Aniello creates visual stories as compelling as the musical stories he brings to life. Drawing on the same creative skills he uses in music, he channels a multitude of ideas into paintings. Inspired by Basquiat, Picasso, and Dali, Aniello synthesizes influences from Cubism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism into brash, large-scale, figurative Neo-Expressionist paintings.

“Writing and producing are collaborative — you’re serving the song, and often the artist’s vision, more than your own. A painting is different for me; it’s something I make entirely on my own terms. A song might take months or years to come together, and I don’t always get a profound sense of how it lands with an audience. A painting speaks for itself the moment someone stands in front of it — there’s something humbling about that immediacy.

Like many artists, Ron begins with the seed of an idea and lets the painting guide him to completion. A song has a structure it must follow; a painting doesn’t, so it teaches me something new every time.
